A specially commissioned large art glass vase handmade by the glass master, Luca Vidal, the free-formed clear, bulbous body internally decorated with contrasting purple and white threads, with further frond pattern cut to one side, with an incised signature, Luca Vidal Murano and Made for Kaufman Family Murano 2015.
Luca Vidal was born in Venice in 1976. From the age of 14 he started to study under the glass master, Imperio Rossi, then came a move to Effetre International of Murano, where he collaborated for the next seven years with Afro Celotto, Silvano Molin, Luciano Pavanello and Giancarlo Tagliapietra. In 2001 he opend a glass studio with Afro Celotto and Giancarlo Tagliapietra and from 2009 they founded Polychromy, a glassworks specialising in the production of contemporary pieces.
Vidal is renowned for his intricate and vibrant glass pieces, often utilizing coloured glass canes to create complex murrine and zanfirico patterns. His works have been exhibited in numerous galleries and art shows across Italy and the United States. Today, he continues to create stunning glass art in his own studio on Murano, each piece designed and handmade with meticulous skill and precision
