A fine quality George II mahogany architect's table of good colour, the hinged top with re-entrant corners lifting on a ratchet support with spring-loaded book rest, the front with a magnificent brass handle and escutcheon, opening to reveal the original lined writing surface with a concealed inkwell drawer to one side, with further fitted compartments and two secret drawers behind slides and swivelling candlestands, the insides of all four legs with engaged quarter column supports, resting on original casters.
